British Values Statement

British Values Statement

Inspire Academy believes Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural values and British Values are at the core of what we do. These include the concepts and ideas of democracy, law, individual liberty, respect and tolerance.

We believe that SMSC and British Values curriculum underpins all areas of our school; the ethos, the curriculum and the relationship with our wider community. We recognise that SMSC/ British Values are a key to preparing our students for their futures within British society.

We encourage our students to be thoughtful and tolerant citizens who will contribute in a positive way to the society of which they are a part.

We encourage our students to explore and respect other faiths and beliefs as well as encouraging them to explore their own feelings and their own identity.  This is done through the curriculum, KS3 and KS4 assemblies and in our everyday interactions at break and lunchtimes.

We encourage our students to recognize right from wrong, to respect The Rule of Law and are they are given opportunities to make the right choices for themselves. Our students are taught about the consequences of making poor choices.

Students are taught to appreciate different and diverse viewpoints and engage with the British Value of Democracy within the school community. Restorative Justice is one way for our pupils to resolve conflicts, build relationships and function more harmoniously within our school.

Different cultural values are celebrated including those of the students themselves.
